  • Events for Guests of All Ages On Mountain and In Town

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. – February 24, 2011
- Breckenridge Ski Resort announced today the creation of a new month-long spring festival titled “Spring Fever”, which will feature a brand new series of events taking place from April 1-24, both on the mountain and in town.
Spring Fever, presented by Cadillac, will take place at Breckenridge Ski Resort as the town and mountain welcome visitors to one of the best times of the year for skiing and riding. Spring in Breck is widely known for having the best snow in Colorado, along with sunny bluebird days, special events, and great deals for guests from around the state and the world. There’s no better way to send off this year’s incredible ski season than with Breck Spring Fever!
“We’re very excited to have seen how fast Spring Fever has already started spreading among our town and guests,” said Kieran Cain, Director of Marketing for the resort. “Over the last year, we’ve conducted some in-depth surveys of our guests, who let us know that our previous spring event, Spring Massive, was not resonating with them. Spring Fever gives us the chance to revamp our entire Spring events schedule in a way to give our guests exactly what they are telling us they want to see in Spring: great skiing, music, food, and events for the entire family, in addition to the best snow conditions in the Rocky Mountain region.”
The idea behind the branding of Spring Fever is based on embracing the biological change that occurs in humans as the seasons switch from winter to spring. Wikipedia defines Spring Fever as: “A term applied to several sets of physical and psychological symptoms associated with the arrival of Spring. It refers to an increase in energy and vitality, often particularly strong in those experiencing lows during the winter months.”
Breck Spring Fever will kick off the first weekend of April and will conclude on Easter Sunday, April 24, the final operating day of the ski resort this season.
Some of this April’s Spring Fever Signature Events will include:
-Live concerts every Saturday and Sunday afternoon at the Peak 8 base
-EpicMixer singles events every Friday night at the T Bar
-5 ‘til 5 Terrain Park Happy Hour events every Thursday night off of the 5 Chair lift
-Extended Gondola operating hours throughout April
-The Breck “1859 Restaurant Special” featuring special $18.59 menu pricing at town restaurants all month
-The Breck 5 Peaks competition, North America’s longest ski mountaineering race, on April 9
